Grigoryans in Concert: A Synergy of Strings and Soul
24th July, 7pm
Northern Rivers Conservatorium
Concert Room
There are some musical pairings that go beyond technical mastery – where the connection between performers becomes its own instrument. That’s exactly what audiences can expect from Sharon & Slava Grigoryan, a guitar and cello duo whose musical synergy has captivated audiences across the country.
Perhaps it’s the depth of their collaboration – both as artists and life partners – that gives their performances such unique emotional clarity. Every note speaks not just of technical precision, but of shared intuition, generosity, and joy.
Their repertoire bridges generations and genres: from timeless works by Vivaldi, Granados, and Piazzolla, to vibrant contemporary pieces, original compositions, and luminous reimaginings of familiar classics. Every program offers something new – and something deeply resonant.
Slava Grigoryan is widely recognised as a master of the guitar on the international stage. Sharon Grigoryan has carved a celebrated path through Australian classical music, performing with the nation’s leading symphony orchestras and ensembles, including a seven-year tenure with the Australian String Quartet.
Together, their debut album Our Place (released on ABC Classics) earned a 2020 ARIA nomination for Best Classical Album – an elegant reflection of their artistry and shared musical voice.
Don’t miss the chance to experience this extraordinary duo live. Their music doesn’t just entertain – it connects.
