The Northern Rivers Conservatorium is one of 17 regional conservatoriums across NSW. It is funded through the NSW Department of Education’s Regional Conservatorium Grants Program. With an established reputation and sparkling history of achievement, NRC is a key cultural and educational provider deeply engaged with its diverse community. It is the largest single provider of quality music education in the Northern Rivers, continuing to build a community of people who are happily committed to pursuing the art of music-making in all forms. This is achieved through a consistent provision of quality, accessible and integrated music education. NRC is a committed Child Safe organisation and a Creative Kids provider.
Community music
Community Music is music for you – and the whole community! From individually tailored music education programs to diverse and exciting groups and ensembles, we welcome all ages, aspirations and abilities, and celebrate your achievements. NRC offers everything from individual tuition in the instrument of your choice to a wide range of ensembles, choirs and a host of exciting performance opportunities.
Music in schools
Our Music in Schools Program provides quality instrumental and ensemble music tuition with conservatorium tutors at your school during school hours. Our list of partner schools across the region is growing all the time! We work with the school community of teachers, parents and students to provide specifically tailored and holistic programs that support each school’s unique music education vision. We add richness to the school experience through opportunity, engagement and participation!
Early Childhood music
We aim to grow a love for, and understanding of music in all children across our region. The importance of Early Childhood Music (ECM) in a child’s development cannot be overstated. We provide opportunities for learning through participation in musical activities at levels consistent with childhood development, in a playful and creative learning environment.
