Summer Jazz in the Quad with YJO
The Northern Rivers Conservatorium is pleased to announce that we will be having a special outdoor concert, Jazz in the Quad, bringing together live music, artisan stalls and community connection in the heart of Lismore’s cultural precinct.
The event will showcase the talents of the Northern Rivers Youth Jazz Orchestra (YJO), whose energy, skill and creativity have become a hallmark of the Con’s musical life. Conducted by Nic Campbell, YJO will perform at 6:45pm with their signature big band sound. Before YJO takes the stage, audiences can enjoy a set from emerging local artist Angus Joyce at 6pm.
Adding to the atmosphere is the Con’s curated Artisan Market, opening from 4:30pm and featuring 11 stallholders offering a range of handmade and locally crafted goods. Visitors can browse ceramics, jewellery, clothing, upcycled fashion, photography, artworks, ornaments and more a wonderful opportunity to purchase thoughtful Christmas gifts while supporting local creators.
Food options include the Vietnamese food van, snow cones for something sweet, and a variety of nearby CBD eateries just a short stroll away. Families are encouraged to bring a picnic rug or chairs and settle in for a relaxed, family-friendly evening celebrating creativity and community.
Jazz in the Quad brings together everything the Conservatorium values: music, learning, collaboration and a strong sense of place. It is a chance for students, families, friends and the wider community to gather, celebrate the year’s achievements, and enjoy live music at the wonderful Lismore Quadrangle’s outdoor setting.
We look forward to sharing this special evening with our community — for the love of music.
