Employment Opportunity – Cello Teacher | Northern Rivers Conservatorium

The opportunity exists for specialist Cello teacher to join the strong team of dedicated music educators who teach in the Community Music and Music in Schools programs at the Northern Rivers Conservatorium. The ability to lead ensembles is an advantage.  This position commences in Term 2, 2022.

Successful candidates will:

  1. Have a Bachelor of Music or equivalent professional experience
  2. Have a minimum of 5 years studio teaching and / or conducting experience
  3. Be experienced in preparing students for AMEB, Trinity and HSC exams
  4. Education qualifications an advantage
  5. Participate in the broader activities of the Conservatorium including Concerts and Open Days
  6. Have a current Working with Children Check number
  7. Be able to provide proof of complete COVID-19 vaccination
  8. Be available to work during NSW School Terms and some School Holidays
  9. Follow set administrative procedures
  10. Possess excellent communication and organisational skills
  11. Display professional presentation and conduct

Selection Criteria:

Essential:

  1. Proven commitment to quality music education
  2. At least 5 years’ experience conducting and studio teaching
  3. Ability to identify and teach to different learning styles
  4. Willingness to work with people of all ages from diverse backgrounds
  5. A good team player
  6. Support the Conservatorium’s place in the wider community through participation in eisteddfods, workshops etc.

Desirable:

  1. Experience with extra activities such as Theory Classes, Ensembles
  2. Ability to teach any other instruments (please specify to what level)
