It’s coming up to a very exciting term ahead in our early childhood music program. We are visiting and hosting music sessions for hundreds of children from Preschools and Primary schools throughout our region, from Coraki to Lismore, Evans Head to Ballina, Bangalow and up to Ocean Shores. Some of these schools are participating in a combined excursion to the Quad, visiting the Lismore Regional Gallery for the Archibald Prize, participating in an interactive music class at the Conservatorium, then finishing with a picnic lunch in the Quad. What an awesome educational day out for these children!  The Archibald exhibition includes the ‘Young Archies’ competition winners featuring amazing young artists works, opening on the 18th April. It’s an exciting time to visit to the Quad.

We continue to hold regular early childhood music (ECM) classes ‘Sprouts’ and ‘Seedlings’ each Tuesday morning during school term for 1-3 and 3-5 year olds. We have a beautiful ECM room with a vast scope of instruments for children to play. Our experienced and dedicated teachers provide engaging and inspired learning, introducing music concepts through singing, rhythm, movement and musical games.

For those children aged 5-8 that are ready to learn an instrument but not sure where to begin, the ‘Intro Musos’ 6 week course held in term 1 and 3 and followed on by an option of a small ensemble group in terms 2 and 4. This course lays a strong foundation in music learning, through singing, percussion and instrument playing, with visiting tutors each week demonstrating a range of instruments, opening up the possibilities of what and how you can learn.

There are musical options for all ages and stages, so come down to the Conservatorium and see what classes may suit you.
