This is music of a changing time and an evolving place.
Coast was formed by Drummer Paul Derricott in 2017 and explores complex rhythmic structures and textures in an jazz and improvising manner. Paul Derricott Band leader/Drummer has worked extensively in both popular music and jazz. Paul has toured nationally and internationally with Lanie Lane the Beautiful Girls and Mat McHugh as well as releasing albums and touring with Jazz groups as a leader and sideman for Tiny Hearts, Arrow, The Dave Jackson Quartet, Felucca and many others.
The music presented in this workshop draws upon contemporary popular music rhythms and harmonic devices and the tradition of jazz improvisation and syncopation.

- Group improvisation and ensemble playing
